Carnegie Mellon left decimated after Uber poaches 40 top-rated robotic researchers to help them develop self-driving cars
AFTER AN EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE PROGRAM TO RECRUIT HUNDREDS OF DRIVERS AS INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS USING THEIR VEHICLES TO GIVE PEOPLE RIDES ,UBER NOW INTENDS TO PUT THEM OUT OF WORK WITH SELF-DRIVING CARS.
WTF?

I WANT TO CONTROL MY OWN DAMN CAR MYSELF AND THESE YUPPPE TECHNOCRATS CAN GO TO HELL.

PITTSBURGH - JULY 15: Brennan Sellner and Dani Goldberg, students at Carnegie Mellon University, work on GRACE, a prototype mobile robot, July 15, 2002 at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. GRACE has wheels and sensors allowing it to move and interact with people. It has been a long-running project for the Robotics Institute and last-minute work is being done before GRACE presented at a robotics convention in Canada. (Photo by Chris Hondros/Getty Images)

It was just February when the taxi startup announced a 'strategic partnership' with the Pittsburgh university in order to work on autonomous vehicle technology.
