Statement from Siemens on Amtrak derailment involving 1of its electric locomotives: 'Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families involved in Tuesday evening's incident. An Amtrak Cities Sprinter locomotive was powering Amtrak Northeast Regional Train 188 on May 12. The locomotive was built by Siemens and delivered to Amtrak in 2014 specifically for its Northeast Corridor service. Siemens has been in regular communication with its customer, Amtrak, and offered its support in incident response and in determining the cause of the derailment. Earlier this week, team members were deployed to the scene to assist. The company will coordinate as appropriate with agencies responsible for investigating the incident including the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) to determine the root cause' - @AielloTV
