$170.00 hamburger in Venezuela? NOPE. Here is the story: The government put in place price controls and pegged them to the false reality of a functioning economic system. Then the black market took over. The black market devalued Venezuela's currency by 100 X. So if you went to Venezuela, paid American cash and did not use a credit card, which is pegged to the controlled system, a burger would cost you $1.70. Barter is probably ruling the day. It has to be, because the paper is WORTHLESS and government dictate has been rendered irrelevant.
