The Introduction to Drug Endangered Children Program (IDECTP) addresses the nation’s growing issues surrounding drug endangered children. The program is designed to introduce law enforcement officers, prosecutors and social workers to the dangers associated with children who are raised in dangerous drug environments. The focus is on the collection and preservation of critical evidence necessary to prosecute drug endangerment cases in U.S. courts.
Electronic Control Device Instructor Training Program
The Electronic Control Device Instructor Training Program (ECDITP) is designed to focus on the development of instructors who are responsible for providing Electronic Control Device (ECD) training to law enforcement officers. Instruction during this program includes ECD characteristics, daily function checks, safety and mitigating factors, tactical considerations, post deployment procedures, voluntary exposures, force option transition drills and threat assessment. Graduates of the program will also be trained in the areas of developing and evaluating training exercises involving the deployment of an ECD. Current legal aspects and use of force issues that cover the current evolution of case law in this field will be explored
The Leadership Through Understanding Human Behavior Training Program (LTUHB) was designed to provide law enforcement leaders with a training vehicle that can help to develop more effective work groups and teams. Participants will develop a better understanding of themselves, interpersonal dynamics, and how their strengths, weaknesses, and roles within work groups and teams affect a mission's outcome. Participants learn how to adapt and capitalize on each others strengths in order to have more effective mission outcomes. This program can be customized based on the specific needs of the customer.
The 3 Day Tactical Medical Program will provide the LEO/Operator with knowledge and skills necessary to mitigate the loss of their life or the life of another while in a combat or tactical environment. The skills will address treating life threatening injuries in an austere environment with limited equipment, lack of medically trained personnel and prolonged time to evacuation. Tactical Medical is a systematic approach to dealing with casualties in a tactical environment. It is strongly influenced by the model used by the Department of Defense called Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC or “TC3”). As the name implies, TCCC incorporates tactical problem solving into any situation in which casualties are incurred from an armed, hostile opponent. The TCCC system focuses on saving “preventable deaths” while achieving 3 primary goals: - Treat the Casualty - Prevent Additional Casualties - Continue the Mission
The Covert Electronic Surveillance Program (CESP) continually upgrades equipment and operational techniques to provide the most effective methods using audio and video digital recording devices for the purposes of consensual monitoring. Officers/agents who have a need to understand and use electronic surveillance devices will receive extensive training in officer safety, legal issues, chain of custody of digital evidence, Radio Frequency transmission, and Operational Site preparation and selection. Introduction to electronic tracking, Internet Protocol (IP) surveillance cameras, and various video transmission systems is included in the curriculum. Extensive laboratory applications and hands-on training using various types of audio and video surveillance devices is emphasized. Students are taught how to plan for and conduct technical surveillance operations and how to build covert audio and video concealments. Students will demonstrate their comprehension of the material and techniques taught in this course through a variety of field exercises with professional role players as targeted individuals. $3717
The Internet Investigations Training Program (IITP) will focus on investigations and operations centered on the use of the internet and its many communities that are being exploited for criminal activity day-to-day. Investigating the cyber-criminal can be one of the most complex tasks facing the law enforcement professional today and requires a multidisciplinary approach supported by technical expertise. The program will give the criminal investigator or analyst the basic understanding they need to conduct cyber-based investigations. $5147
The Internet Protocol Camera Program (IPCP) is a hands-on training program that provides the student with the knowledge and practical experience for planning, programming and installing an Internet Protocol (IP) camera and then using the Internet to transmit video images to a remote location for recording as evidence.$3271
The Advanced Instruction for Marksmanship (AIM) training program is designed to enhance the field firearms instructor’s understanding of effective coaching philosophies and teaching concepts as it relates to firearms training. Other topics taught in the program include the analysis of shooting errors and corrective methods, firearms course development and an introductory study of basic ballistics. The program objectives are achieved through classroom discussions, laboratories and a practical exercise. All students are required to present a briefing on a firearms or a training issue, trend or technique to include new equipment and emerging technology.
The Law Enforcement Supervisor Leadership Training Program (LESLTP) addresses the competencies needed to be effective as a leader in the law enforcement community. The courses in this program focus heavily on human capital development disciplines and the law enforcement mission and culture. To accomplish this, FLETC has collaborated with some of the best-known experts on leadership from the private sector. This enables the instructors to deliver some of the best courses on leadership to our customers. The Situational Leadership ®II for Law Enforcement Training Program (SLTP) teaches the leadership model developed and perfected by Dr. Ken Blanchard, and his colleagues at The Ken Blanchard Companies. The FLETC Leadership Institute Branch (LIB) and The Ken Blanchard Companies have collaborated to customize the program for law enforcement leaders and managers. It provides a unique opportunity for law enforcement professionals to not only refine their supervisory and leadership skills, but more importantly, to use Situational Leadership® to develop their people. The instructors are current or former law enforcement professionals, certified by The Ken Blanchard Companies to present the program. These professionals bring a unique understanding of the law enforcement culture, and practical knowledge of how to meet the challenges that face a law enforcement supervisor in operational settings.
