BEWARE OF AIRBERLIN!!! They charged $70 for my first bag (technically free allowence) by mistake at LAX in Sept 2011. I have been emailing their customer service since then to request a refund. In late Nov 2011, they finally replied asking for my bank details, apologized for their mistake, and stating they would reimburse me. A week later, after emailing them to request an update on the status of the wire, they sent me an email stating they never received the copies of the receipts and bank details. I, then, fowarded the email with all the details that I had already sent them a week before. A few days later, they sent me a new email saying they would not refund me because I had traveled with 3 bags instead of 2, which is NOT true. I FLEW WITH 2 BAGS THAT DAY, WHICH IS SHOWN ON THE RECEIPTS I FORWARDED TO THEM. In other words, Airberlin overcharged me, procrastinated for months, and then made up that I had an extra bag just to refuse to issue the refund of the money THEY OWE ME! Disgusting custmer service! Definitely worth paying a little more for a ticket than flying with Airberlin; at least with other airlines customer service does its job!
