For weeks now, it’s been clear Bernie Sanders did not have the delegates nor the votes to be the Democratic Party’s 2016 presidential nominee. But for a man who claims to have the answers, Sanders has been clueless, in denial, or he has been simply ornery.
Each time Sanders attacked Clinton, despite the political writing on the wall, he was helping Trump. There’s no other way to see it. While Clinton was being attacked by Trump, she also was being attacked by Sanders.
Sanders justified his attacks claiming polls showed him running stronger against Trump than Clinton. But those poll results were bogus in that many Republicans responded to those polls bent on making it seem as if Sanders had more support than he actually had. Their motive: They knew a Trump match against Sanders would be easier than against Clinton.
Democrats need to see Sanders for what he is, an opportunist. He’s not even a Democrat. He’s a socialist running on a Democratic platform.
Sanders is a moonbeam, a space cadet, on a political suicidal mission that will only help the Republicans and Trump. For his followers, for the nation, and for his legacy, it’s time Sanders stopped being a sore loser and throw in the towel.
