My name is Natalie. I'm 16 years old. My life took a different turn one day..
I stretched my eyes open as the sunlight pierced thew the car window. My head hurt from having to lean on it to sleep. I looked out the window and we were passing by the beach, I saw some cute guys playing volleyball. California was beautiful, but yet I felt like it still couldn't be home.
My parents past away when I was 9 years old in a car accident. Ever since then, My aunt has been looking after me, So I live with her and her 5 year old daughter, Macy. My aunt had to make us move with her to California because of her job. I didn't mind, but it felt so different.
I was so tired. I slept, but I didn't get a good sleep. Well obviously, how can you sleep comfortably in a car? I yawned. I looked to my left, and Macy was asleep, holding her teddy bear. She looked so cute, but sometimes she can be extremely annoying. "Good morning sweetie" Aunt Cheryl said as she broke the silence. "How did you sleep?" "Terrible." I spoke softly so I wouldn't wake Macy up. "Well we're here darling, so get as comfortable as you want too." We pulled up inside the gate and the house was huge! I was so anxious to see what it looked like from the inside.
I opened the car door and opened the trunk. I got out my suitcase. Aunt Cheryl handed me the keys. I lifted my suitcase up the steps and took out the key to unlock the door. I pushed on the handle and the door swung open. My jaw dropped. It was so beautiful. I walked in and smiled to myself. I took my suitcase upstairs. I looked at all the rooms. I finally found the perfect room and started to unpack in there. My room had a view where you would see the beach! I looked down from one of my windows and saw aunt Cheryl carrying Macy in her arms as she slept. I ran downstairs and scooped her out of aunt Cheryl's arms. "Do you like it?" she whispered. "I love it." I took Macy up to one of the rooms upstairs and lay her on the bed so she could sleep. I went back to my room. I went back to unpacking. I starting putting all my clothes into my closet. All my underwear, bras and socks into my draws. I hung all my jewelery on my stand and my make-up kit right beside it. I was satisfied with everything. I jumped on my bed and lay on it, staring at the ceiling. It was already 8PM. I was so tired, the trip here, the unpacking and setting up my room.
Aunt Cheryl barged into my room. "Oh, so this is the room you picked." "Yes! And look at the view, its amazing!" "It is." She smiled at me. "Honey, we came from a long trip and you did a lot of work, are you hungry?" I was hungry, but I was more tired than hungry. I decided not to eat. "No thank you." "Alright then, if you do get hungry, make yourself something, I got the groceries." "Okay, love you. Goodnight."
She popped back into my room. "And remember, wake up fresh and early tomorrow morning, It's a new school day. Goodnight, honey." I completely forgot about how I have to go to a new school now. I missed my old best friend, Kelsey. I'm not going to know anyone there, this is going to be terrible. I got up from my bed and changed my clothes. I brushed my teeth and washed my face. Tomorrow's a new day. I hopped into bed and pulled the covers over me. I closed my eyes and tried to fall asleep.
