California government and politics news.
Here's what we're watching:

Proponents of a ballot measure to legalize the recreational use of marijuana in California have filed suit in a Sacramento County court alleging opponents of the initiative have made "false and/or misleading statements."

California could become the first in the nation to implement lane-sharing guidelines after the Assembly passed a bill to formalize rules for motorcyclists.

State Senate leader Kevin de León said Wednesday that he isn't yet sold on Gov. Jerry Brown's plan for a regional electric grid or a proposition to legalize recreational use of marijuana in the state.

State lawmakers were warned Wednesday that California's 911 emergency services system is running out of money.

Assemblyman David Hadley (R-Manhattan Beach) says he won't vote for Trump or Clinton, and Lancaster Rep. Steve Knight's congressional challenger has called for the Republican to denounce the GOP presidential candidate. Knight later called Trump's comments about the family of a Muslim American soldier "deplorable."
