D YUMTheresa: Athletic trainers have many different forums to discuss these topics. For example, the National Athletic Trainers' Association offers an annual clinical symposium and conference at the national level as well as at the district level. These conferences provide continuing education units, or CEUs, (which certified athletic trainers must obtain to maintain certification) for ATs to stay up to date with current trends as well as offering networking opportunities to discuss hot topics with colleagues. There are also many workshops and seminars offered by private companies offering CEUs in a wide array of topics. Also, as a community college athletic trainer, the athletic trainers in our conference meet twice a year to discuss topics that we decide are relevant to our setting.
