What if a million Blacks were murdered by other Blacks this year. During the same year, what if 12 Blacks were murdered by white police officers. Guess which scenario the black community would express the most anger and outrage over. Guess which scenario would produce the largest protests?
If you said the police shootings, you would be spot-on.
Two things: 1) We’ve been so conditioned to focus on Whites and racism, that’s what we focus on most. 2) Black-on-black shootings and killings are so common in our communities, many Blacks have become numb to this reality.
To justify black-on-black killings, a segment of black apologists will argue that Whites are killing each other, too. In their minds, if Whites are doing it, why is it a problem if we’re doing it? This is the kind of mentality that would ignore a million Blacks killed by other Blacks, but would fixate on the 12 Blacks killed by the police.
Enter Black Lives Matter. Police shootings may have given birth to those supporters. But every “newborn” has to grow up and evolve. Black Lives Matter and the entire black community have to evolve and declare that “All Black Lives Matter” and not just those taken by white, rogue cops.
People, we’re carrying out genocide on each other.
Say what you will, but most white communities aren't affected by the number of carjackings, drive-bys, gang shootings, drug shootings, killings over shoes, chains, etc that go down in black communities. What we’re doing to each other is not normal, and it shouldn’t’ be acceptable.
However, black apologists and poverty pimps will throw around phony statistics to promote their agenda. But the bottom line is we’re killing each other like no other group.
As for Black Lives Matter supporters, you cannot even mention their hypocrisy without a segment of the supporters taking it personal. But who cares about them taking things personal? The issue of Blacks killing Blacks is more important than someone’s personal feelings getting hurt.
When BLM supporters push back on allegations that they only care about black lives taken by white, rogue cops, they can be quite defensive. But they don’t understand that their defensiveness is just an excuse and justification for our own self-inflicted genocide. Look at what’s been going on in Chicago, or Detroit, or Atlanta, or….
Here’s a challenge. Name one white community in this country where they’re doing to themselves what we’re doing to ourselves.
Other communities are no doubt puzzled when we protest and proclaim that "Black Lives Matter." Yet, they see us killing each other with a frequency that disproves our pretense that Black Lives Matter. Black Lives don't matter just because we chant, or say Black Lives Matter, or because we wear tee shirts proclaiming Black Lives Matter.
Black Lives Will Matter when Blacks prove by our actions that Black Lives Matter and when our homicide rates are as low as in many non-black communities. Then we can truly say Black Lives Matter, and it won’t just be rhetoric.
