Donald Trump is certainly qualified to be a reality TV star. He has lots of experience doing that.
But president of the United States? Puh-lease!
Trump has never held any kind of governmental office. He has never been a:
• School Board Member
• City Councilperson
• Mayor
• Judge
• State Representative
• State Senator
• Governor
• U.S. Representative
• U.S. Senator
Yet the arrogant, egotistical Trump believes he’s qualified to be president of the United States. There’s not a smidgen of evidence to suggest Trump can even govern with the professional temperament you would expect of an officeholder.
There’s no evidence he can even work well with others. On the contrary, there’s plenty of evidence to suggest he cannot work well with others, especially those who disagree with him. During the campaign, there was ample evidence Trump could not work well with others.
Like a spoiled brat, he attacked every fellow Republican and journalist who disagreed with him. That shows a lack of character and self-control. Trump’s track record strongly suggests he would have difficulty dealing with members of his own congress and members of foreign governments. He would be an absolute train wreck.
In a recent Vanity Fair article, Michael Kinsley wrote, “Trump is just the latest among a series of business types who think they should run the country because they ran a company. Remember Ross Perot? This year there are two, the other being Carly Fiorina, who ran Hewlett-Packard—ran it into the ground.
“Businesspeople are an odd category of citizen to look to as a populist deus ex machina. True, they usually have some practical business sense and experience, which is not worthless. But their lives are different from those of people who are hurting, and increasingly so. (So are the lives of Washington journalists, but at least we are free to admit it.) Trump's business experience has been in real estate, professional celebrity, gambling casinos, and creative bankruptcy—not the kind of experience that is likely to be useful as president.”
The very fact this man has been taken seriously has to be one of the greatest scams in American history. Were it not for reality TV, Trump would have been dismissed as a joke.
