Donald Trump has insulted more people than you could ever keep track of, and he has been the ultimate bully. He has insulted women, a handicapped man, and he has called people unattractive for sport.
Trump has incited prejudice against different groups, as well as people with different religious beliefs. He has acted as if he was better than others, knows more than anyone else, and like a spoiled brat.
What Trump supporters say they admire about him, they would never tolerate from their own children. If most parents saw their children acting like a bully, a brat, a know-it-all, insulting people sport, and expressing bigoted feelings towards others, they wouldn’t tolerate it. But when Trump does it, they cheer and applaud.
How can grown-ups applaud behavior in Trump, an adult, they wouldn’t tolerate in a child?
If a child behaved like Trump, most decent parents would give that child a stern lecture. They would use the occasion as a teachable moment, and they would certainly discipline the child. Again, how can Trump supporters accept behavior in him that they would never accept from their own children?
We encourage our children to be respectful, and we discourage the kind of behavior Trump has displayed. If certain behaviors are not acceptable in children, they certain be acceptable in adults.
