Hello I am a salon owner who decided to carry AC exclusively over other men's lines in my new salon....jan2013 new... I don't have a strong men clientele but I wanted to be prepared for the cont growth of my business and I wanted to offer what I believed to be a great exclusive product line including the hair colour for my guys.... Oh how disappointed I was today when I happened on to American Crew styling aids....shampoo/con,and body wash available to me , you and everyone at the new Target store in my salons neighbourhood :((((( please help me on how to justify to my clients why they should buy this professional product from me the professional and pay my HIGHER retail costs????? I was told that it is only available to industry people???? I prescribe your line to my clients, I guarantee their satisfaction, I educate and I even go so far as to " gift" full size, full cost products to the guys who aren't "sure" professional products are any better then "drug store" but now after seeing that product on targets self, I don't think it's so special????? And I'm concerned I've invested too much " money and effort in product that's not so special that i cant afford to sell for any less then i am charging now, a price that is higher then what this retailer charges???? I have worked in retail sales as well as in the hair industry as a stylist, a salon manager for corporate salons and now as a salon owner with a small staff of three, so I understand how sales, distribution rights ect go ... ... I feel strongly about keeping professional products available exclusively through licensed educated stylists.. Please make more of an effort to remove your products from drug stores, and department stores! I am continually challenged by clients as to why I should even be paid what I ask to be paid because most people are so blind to the fact that what we do is " work" or that it requires skills and continuing education .... But I am at a loss as to how I ask people to purchase American Crew from me and please pay more then you would at the big box store???? Any suggestions????
