Here is my take on the death of the Travis county deputy who was found shot with his own pistol in his back yard in Round Rock,Texas in spite of what the cop hating local media has been broadcasting.
The neighborhood had many recent burglaries so it was just a matter of time before his home was next.
Scenario One: Some no goods who had been trustees and cleaned up at the Travis County Sheriffs Academy where the deputy taught somehow got it in for him since it seems to have become fashionable to kill cops. They either got out or contacted ganag members who were already out and they either did the job themselves or they contracted it out --probably to some scum in Houston or San Antonio, both of which have gangs which are rumored to do hits. Someone followed him home to find out where he lived. Then, they waited for the opportune moment and as long as they were in the neighborhood, why not break in some places and steal and see what happened.
If the gang iusWhen he comes home, one guy serves as the distraction. He pulls his pistol and gets on his radio. The guy he didn't see jumps him, a struggle ensues and he shoots and kills the guy with his own gun and because he is wearing gloves to avoid leaving finger prints, he and his accomplice(s) get the hell out of these.
Entirely plausible--and they are now hiding out anywhere in the US but I think the suspects will be back in Houston or San Antonio. For all we know they could be back in Mexico or Central America.
There are street gangs who are so scary NOBODY snitches on them. NOBODY. Which suggests a cartel guy(s) probably did the hit, if that is what happened.
Scenario Number Two: The dirtbags that were burglarizing the neighborhood came back looking for thing sto steal and fence so they could get some dope--the kind they were high on when the deputy caught them in his yard under the cover of darkness. Burglars as a rule do not carry pistols when they steal.
The deputy pulls up and the lookout for the burglars sees him and runs in the back to warn the others. The deputy pursues him and gets overpowered after he pulls his pistol in one hand and radios in with the other hand. While he is distracted with the radio, he gets jumped, they take his pistol and it fires and kills him. If it was close enough there would be tattooing from the gunpowder at the point of contact.since he is in uniform, the guys realize they have killed a cop and since that is capital punishment, who is going to stick around for THAT?
No prints because they usually wear two pairs of surgical gloves. They would have parked their car a few blocks over and they are gone. Or they might have used bicycles. They did not disturb the neighbors.
Classic wrong place and wrong time scenarios.
Very doubtful he would "commit suicide"
That is just some lame *ss guy who wants to close the case and go back to drinking beer or watching some sh*t on TV.
I think it is going to be related to a drug cartel and he knew something.
He might have worked an off-duty security job and saw something he shouldn't have seen and they wanted to shut him up.
You make a LOT of enemies in the law enforcement business.
