I doubt Snowden prefers an American prison to Russia
The Washington Post put up a pretty stupid war propaganda piece, claiming Snowden would rather spend time in an American jail than to stay in Russia. And that is quite a dubious claim by the Washington Post, which mimics the classic war propaganda clearly: HEY FOLKS, AN AMERICAN JAIL IS BETTER THAN LIFE ON THE STREETS IN RUSSIA! Yeah right.
And there is intrinsic proof that it is blatant war propaganda. Quite easily proven false, in fact - because if he really did prefer American prison to life in Russia, Russia would oust him in a tenth of a second. You can't have a proven foreign agent on your soil who would prefer to go to jail rather than stay with you. That would be a major security breach. And Russia would have none of that.
And on a different note, there are rumors going around that Afghanistan and Iraq have asked Russia to start bombing on their soil - to get rid of the CIA! Quite the laugh if it is true.
