I dreamed a dream of a much simpler time, when the strong didn't beat on the weak, when love was stronger than hate, when people cared about each other, when neighbors helped their fellow men, when the headlines didn't read like the obituaries, when you knew that the winters would be cold and the summers would be warm, when the wealthy would feed the hungry, when people actually spoke to each other face to face, when you could walk the streets without the fear of being robbed or worse killed, when a smile didn't cost a cent, when the peace overcame the wars, and when You could actually enjoy the simpler things in life, like a beautiful blue sky with a pristine sunrise, a rainbow after a shower, a bee sitting on a flower, a clean river to swim in, a city where you could breath the air and not poison your lungs, of food that was actually healthy and not full of cancerous additives or a sunset without the smog hiding the sun...then the phone rang and I woke up, to a TV on, a computer full of emails, the hunkering of the cars below, the screams of angry people everywhere, to the news ticker full of war and crime events around the globe and I wondered, when did our lives become so complicated, when did we stop caring about each other, when did we stopped feeling safe and why can't we all put a little more of ourselves into making life simpler, as it seems we just spend more time trying to make it more complicated... we are born to one certainty which is an eventual death, but I say why not live the time You have until that day to your best, to help the needy, respect your elders, be courteous to one another, have a smile instead of a frown, I'm certain, that if we all put a little effort to simplify our daily lives, that dream I had of a simpler time can become a reality, as dreaming of things that never have been, can become real if we make them, but until people begin to realize that they truly can...I'll dream a dream of a simpler time! #bennya13
