It's been a difficult start to 2016 for many of our branches, particularly those on Deeside, Angus and Perth and Kinross areas. The majority of our pharmacies are situated on the east coast of Scotland which has been the area worst affected by the recent flooding, therefore it's been a week of contingency planning for all of us!

Unfortunately, as well as some of our premises being affected, some of our staff's houses have been badly affected by the flooding and we would like them to know that our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time and with everyone else who has been affected. We have also had to move many staff to alternative branches to prevent them from being stranded at their normal place of work so we would like to thank them for their flexibility and hard work to keep all of our branches functioning fully!

Not all of our staff have managed to get home recently due to the flooding and just last night, we had 6 members of staff unable to get home and having to find alternative accommodation. Many of these staff members have now realised that it might be a good idea to carry spare clothes in the car during bad weather just in case!

We have had lots of offers of help, support and services from individuals, company representatives and larger organisations for which we are extremely grateful. Our Operations team are doing a remarkable job however even if their second home has become a hotel in Banchory!

Finally, we would like to say a big thank you to Angus Council and Perth & Kinross Council for keeping us updated with the situation on the roads. Also thank you to all of the emergency services for working tirelessly to keep us safe and the power companies for their hard work during the worst of the storms to keep us switched on. Finally, thank you to everyone that has been sharing our posts over the last week or so to keep the wider community updated on the situation!

It's safe to say that we are all looking forward to a long, hot summer!
