Today’s Israel Inspiration
In the holiday of Shavuot, we read the Book of Ruth, which tells the story of the Moabite princess Ruth, who, through great self-sacrifice, finds her way to the ultimate truth of Torah. On Mother’s Day we can recall Ruth’s incredible merits, and how her redemptive experience led her to become the “mother of royalty” - the great-grandmother to King David. Ruth’s royal lineage will come the future Messiah, bringing the whole world to recognize the special gift of the Torah given on Mount Sinai.
