The Firearms Instructor Training Program (FITP) is designed to provide newly assigned firearms instructors with a familiarization of a variety of firearms, to include care and maintenance. The program also introduces new instructors to teaching techniques and identifies and resolves shooting problems and errors. Students should bring an agency issued handgun and leather/web gear for this training (no trigger finger manipulation, cross-draw or thigh holsters). $2633
The Protective Detail Refresher (PDR), is a course designed to refresh those specialized skills for personnel who conduct Protective Service Operations. Emphasis is placed on attendees performing hands-on practical training to include motorcade tactics, evasive driving, formations, survival shooting and cover and evacuation drills. This is not an entry level PSO course and attendees should possess a basic understanding of Protective Service Operations and/or actively work within a protective detail.
The Basic Tactics Instructor Training Program (BTITP) is designed to qualify the student to be a field training agent or officer by providing high quality training and instilling the analytical knowledge, skills and attitudes needed for the highest proficiency in this specialized field. The course takes basic tactics training to the next level by emphasizing leadership, teach backs, and adult learning as well as the traditional technical skills needed by field training officers and special agents. This course is an intensive training program that covers a variety of tactical subject matters to include: tactical transitions and priorities, contingency planning and situational response. In addition, this program focuses on the role of the field trainer and emphasizes evaluation skills and documentation requirements. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be officially recognized as a Basic Tactics Instructor.
The Vehicle Ambush Countermeasures Training Program (VACTP) presents experienced drivers with some practical alternatives for the protection of their principles against vehicle ambushes and assassination attempts while in transit. Through various instructional methodologies including lectures, discussions and practical exercises, students will discover techniques for deciding the appropriate countermeasures required during vehicle ambushes. In addition, students are updated on current assassination attempts and applicable information regarding actual incidents.
