"President Obama still isn't directly engaging Donald Trump's recent proposal to bar Muslims from entering the US..." That's not what Trump suggested. He suggested a moratorium 'til we understand, so our leaders can figure out what's happening here. "[B]ut a Facebook comment posted from his official account overnight could be the closest he has come so far. The post was at the end of a 'Humans of New York' thread about a Syrian refugee currently in Istanbul, Turkey. According to quotes attributed to the unnamed man ... he is an inventor, and said ...
"'I have several inventions that I'm hoping to patent once I get to America. I just hope that it's safe and that it's a place where they respect science.'" Well, isn't this wonderful? So a Syrian refugee, unnamed, has invented a lot of stuff. He has "several inventions." He's hoping to get them patented once he gets here. He just hopes that it's safe. You know, America's such a dangerous place now. He just hopes that it's safe and it's a place where we "respect science," 'cause of course, you know, we oppose the whole concept of man-made global warming.
So this backwards place known as the United States might not grant me my patents because they're so backwards where "science" is concerned.

Well, here we go again, with Obama imposing his definition of American values on all of us, as though we're the ones corrupting them. "You are part of what makes America great." He's not even here! He's a Syrian refugee, unnamed. It's a Twitter feed! Obama responds on Facebook, "You are part of what makes America great." And people don't understand? They can't understand the Trump phenomenon? Really?

RUSH: This CBS/New York Times poll that's out that shows Trump up to 35 points, and it's just one of many polls that are out there today. Here's the headline: "Fear of Terrorism Lifts Donald Trump in New York Times Poll." He's at 35%. You know what else is in this New York Times poll? You have to go way, way to the end of this story -- which most people are not gonna do, which is why I am here. All of this, every bit of this reporting by the Drive-Bys on Trump and on the San Bernardino Masscare?
All of it combined has now resulted in one of the biggest backfires against the Drive-By Media and the Democrats, because now this CBS/New York Times poll where Trump is up to 35 now shows that for the first time in I don't know how long a majority of Americans oppose a ban on assault weapons. Not a majority of Americans support a ban. A majority of Americans now oppose the Democrats' idea of banning assault weapons. This is a huge item. It represents a huge backfire. At least as expressed in the polling data, everything is backfiring on... Well, you'd have to say at least the media. It's almost becoming cliched to say "the Washington establishment," but it's true.
