Popup Chinese is bringing Chinese study to the next level

If you're looking for a good reason to start/restart studying Chinese, I definitely recommend checking out www.popupchinese.com - I think it's the most interesting language study site I have ever seen (of any language).

For those of us who remember Gubo and Palanka (fictional characters in the old Practical Chinese Reader textbook published god knows when in the dark ages), the world has changed so much. We have nowadays all the online tools available starting from google translate, MDBG, Cantodict, Nciku etc. etc.

Still, I must say that Popup Chinese is bringing the experience to the next level. The best thing about Popup Chinese is that the podcasts are very novel and entertaining, but at the same time including very useful vocabulary. The iPod/iPhone podcasts having the chapter texts in 'lyrics' of the podcast is just like it needs to be done. Also, the extensive support for HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi - standard Chinese exams ala TOEFL) is also very, very interesting approach.
