Positive Mitzvah 245: Conducting Business

Leviticus 25:14 "And if you sell something to your neighbor, or buy
something from your neighbor"

The Torah deals with every aspect of our lives; not only with the way
we pray and study, but also the manner in which we carry out our
business.

This Positive Mitzvah establishes guidelines for our business dealings
and governs the way we buy, sell, and transfer ownership of property.

These guidelines include writing business contracts, paying for goods
with money, or exchanging one item for another.

At the time of the disarmament talks in the U.N. (January 1992): When
the Prophet Isaiah said, "They shall beat their swords into
ploughshares," he was referring to the end of the Cold War and the
beginning of nuclear disarmament. The prophecy has only begun to be
realized.

*

The Cold War did not end due to Man's power of reason. War never made
sense -- yet the same rational Man has fought them for millennium. All
that is new is that the light of Moshiach has begun to shine in our
world.
