President Goodluck Jonathan has formally approved the order declaring the Boko Haram sect as a terrorist organization.
A statement signed by special adviser to the president on media Reuben Abati said the order which has been gazette as the terrorism notice 2013 affects both Boko Haram and another group Jama’atuo Ansarul Muslimina Fi Biladis Sudan.
The proscription order warns the general public that any person participating in any form of activities involving the said groups will be violating the provisions of the terrorism prevention act.
