Pride Alliance, TQ Mason, and Arrows and Aces stand in solidarity with the 49 dead and 53 injured who lost their lives to an act of senseless violence in the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida. After such tragedy, this is a particularly vulnerable time for our LGBTQ+ community and for our allies, particularly queer Latinx and other queer people of color.
During Pride Month we are not only reminded of how far we've come as a nation (with last year, same sex marriage becoming legal) but of how much left we have to go in order to obtain safe spaces and respect. Our community at Mason is about love and understanding within our complex and varied community, and we aim to accept, educate, and include, but perhaps most importantly, to support one another.
