Quora: powerful mood-booster! "27 is young - people's lives can go completely wrong at 40+ and they still have to start over with no direction. Just because you get established in life early or in accordance with social norms doesn't mean it will stay that way. In fact if you never have any cause for serious introspection when you're young; something can hit you in later life that completely knocks you off course for good. I was still unsure of my path at 27,28 & 29 and was not following my heart. I also left an unsatisfactory relationship at 28. What if your long term partner leaves you at 45?! You have to have a great life set up as a single person first. Never lower your standards.
