RAIN! 50°F 7:30 AM Hey hey Giovanni here. A mild westerly flow will keep the rain coming today. We are on the warm side of the jet stream which means light to moderate rain and snow levels above the pass with little snow expected below 7500ft. Chain restrictions are not expected over the Summit at this time. Expect today's daytime highs in the low 50s and overnight lows in the mid 40s.

A colder stronger storm looks to arrive Friday afternoon with heavy rain at times and dropping snow levels to around 5500ft, but possibly lower in the heavier showers on Saturday as this system exits the region. We may receive over 1" of rain with the Sierra seeing 12-15" of snow at resort level prompting chain restrictions along I80. Clearing arrives on Saturday with sunny dry weather expected Sunday/Monday. Forecast models continue to trend wet by next Tuesday/Wednesday. More on this soon.

The long range forecast is looking wet off as an overactive Indian ocean generates lots of storminess feeding our storms. This may lead to a continuation of a wet weather right through Christmas. This does not look like an overly cold storm pattern with snow levels remaining above 5000ft.
