Return, O Israel, unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast stumbled in thine iniquity.

Falling in between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, this Shabbat has special significance and is known as the “Shabbat of Return” taken from today’s verse in Hosea. An essential part of repentance is that one feel remorse for his past failings and sincerely resolve to improve. During these days between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, we have a heightened opportunity to come closer to God.
