SF School Elections Questioned for Lack of Diversity
RUSH: "A San Francisco middle school principal is withholding the results of a student election due to the lack of diversity among the candidates who won. Although Everett Middle School is 80% non-white, principal Lena Van Haren claims the results 'weren't representative' of that fact. 'That is concerning to me because as principal I want to make sure all voices are heard from all backgrounds,' Van Haren told local Fox affiliate KTVU.
"She said that one of her priorities as an educator was to see her students become 'agents of change.'" Really, is that...? Agents of change? Change is gonna happen anyway. Change happens; there's nothing you can do about it. But they want to be little activists, little hell-raisers out here. So the students voted, and the results did not jibe with the overall population of the school. So the principal? Eh, threw it out. Can't accept it. It's not right. Therefore freedom, it doesn't exist.
