STOP THE TPP!

"I just got an email from an extreme right wing Republican trying to
sell us on Fast Track for the TPP. The latest word is that there will
be a vote in House tomorrow, and they would not be trying so hard to
SELL us if they were not afraid they might lose.

PLEASE call your House members NOW toll-free at 888-804-8311 and
demand an end to this deception.

Their creepy, deceptive sales pitch is "Don't worry it's just a
procedural vote, don't worry there'll be plenty of time to read it
later." The email we got said the same thing at least six times, just
a procedural thing, just a procedural thing.

Members of Congress know perfectly well that procedure in these
matters is EVERYTHING. The vote they are pushing for would cripple
congressional procedure in every possible way, in the first instance
by forbidding any filibuster.

That's huge. We can debate about whether the filibuster is a good
thing or bad thing. But why make a special exception just for the
Trans Pacific Partnership? Because it stinks so bad if more people
knew what was in it now, no way could they get away with it.

That's why they won't let it be published now. That's why the
so-called Fast Track proposal won't allow for ANY amendments either.

How stupid do they think we are? It stinks, stinks, stinks.
