So many people are incredibly quick to criticize the movement Invisible Children started to neutralize Joseph Kony and take a step toward stopping the violence that plagues the children of central and west africa. But why? You who question and criticize, ask yourselves and truly delve deeply to find the answer - What can you possibly gain? Is it really more important than spreading the knowledge necessary to inspire change and possibly save not one, but thousands of lives? People criticize the organization and its expenditure of funds, but 1. do not realize that it takes a lot of money to spread this message in a way that will acquire followers who will in turn perpetuate it further and 2. these people are donating something much more valuable than money, their time. This is not a charity dedicated to raising money, but raising awareness, and keeping it high enough to hold the attention of higher powers who can instill a change that matters. Yes, the video uses fancy editing and compelling music, etc, but that is the point - to garner the attention of many, educate them, and hope they CARE. The point is for all of us to know and CARE enough to send a message to our communities, and our governments, and our WORLD that this is something we care about and we need to be a part of changing it. And I understand this is only a start, and there is more to be done both globally and within this very movement itself - this is not a simple solution - but it is a start, and to something big, and if we can show that as a people, we can unite to instill change for a greater good, then there is no limit to what we can change. People just need to know that they in fact CAN make a difference. The cynics who are critical of this attempt for change are so because they do not believe that this will change anything, but that is the state of mind that we have to alter. WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE, JUST REALIZE IT AND DO YOUR PART. Even if we save one life, we made a difference, and we should be willing to donate whatever it takes to do so. Is life, or even a life, have a monetary value? Can you put a price on it? I think all of you critics out there need to reevaluate what your priorities are before you pick a side in this battle.
