There were quite a few suicides in WAC Basic Training back in the 1970s. Sure, the rejection and being treated like crapola got to many women but no reason to off yourself.
It was just too insane for me with all the drug experimentation,women given the choice of jail.prison or the military, and almost all of the women who tried to gang me and got hell beat out of them ended up busting out of the service and ending up in casual detachment where I administered street justice every night until i left.
The Army wanted to keep me but my Congressman ordered them to let me out.They weren't very happy to learn that while their "observers" with the clipboards had been taking notes on me, I had also been taking notes on them and giving them to my Congressman.
They wanted to know why the programming they tried to break me down with in Basic had failed.
Easy.Because I liked being the person I was.
