TRUMP: A magnet for bigots and losers? ©2016

Many dirt-poor Americans, at the very bottom of the economic ladder, may not have much materially, but by golly, they sure do have and cling to their prejudices. They also have a love affair with the rich, who often invest their millions in other countries despite their claims about loving America.

Enter Donald Trump. There's a reason Republicans, Democrats, and Independents are against Trump. They know he would be a disaster for this country. The only people who don't know this seem to be the people who don't read or can't read.

To be fair, Trump is right on one issue: illegal immigration. Americans are legitimately concerned about the steady flood of illegal immigrants into this country, and Trump has tapped into their fury. However, he has been tapping into that furor with a racist slant. America can stop illegal immigration without appealing to people’s prejudices.

For their part, the Democrats have ignored the indignation of Americans to illegal immigration while catering to the Hispanic vote. The Dems are wrong on this issue, but they’re right on so many other issues.Neither party is unflawed. The question is which party will be better for the economy, jobs, bridging divisions between Americans and keeping the country out of unnecessary wars. The Democrats have an advantage there.

Trump is popular not because he has all the answers. On the contrary, it’s because too many Americans have gotten dumb and dumber. Like P.T. Barnum, Trump is also aware that a sucker is born every minute, and counting on that.

For years, Republicans, like Trump, have courted bigots, they’ve spewed hate, and they’ve waged a slew of not-so-subtle racial attacks on President Obama Trump evolved from this atmosphere. He is the Republicans’monster coming home to roost.

Nothing Trump has advocated addresses jobs for Americans. His entire campaign has been what he's against: his rivals, other groups, illegal immigrants. What is he for other than self-promotion?

When Americans vote, will they be voting what they’re for, or will they be voting what they’re against? Will they make a clear-headed decision, or will they make a hot-headed decision?

Whatever, people tend to get the government they deserve. Do you deserve a rabid, in-your-face government that promotes racial and religious prejudice? Or do you deserve more?
