The Rivers State government has denied a report published in a national daily which suggested that the cost of the two bell helicopters it purchased were inflated.
The Rivers State commissioner of information and communication Ibim Semenitari at a press briefing said the two bell armored helicopters fitted with cameras were purchased at cost of over twenty eight million dollars.
The Sunday Truth Newspaper had reported that the cost of the two helicopters was slightly above thirteen million dollars.
Supporting her comment with documents from the manufacturers of the helicopters the Rivers State Commissioner Ibim Semenitari said the federal government paid fifteen million dollars out of the twenty eight million dollars cost of the helicopters.
