The #Vauxhall Lifetime Warranty - So, it's been 3 weeks since the big launch of the new Vauxhall Lifetime Warranty and we have had a massive response since then across the board of social media websites.

So let's try to note down the important areas, try to answer some of the most common questions and try a few scenarios.

Ok...

- The warranty is applicable to all passenger cars registered from August 1st 2010 onwards

- Year 1: Your car is covered by a one-year unlimited mileage manufacturer’s warranty with qualifying repairs at no cost to you.

Scenario: My car is 7 months old and has done 80,000 miles, am I still covered under warranty? >>>> YES! Your vehicle is covered under the manufacturer's warranty for another 5 months.

- Years 2 &3: The manufacturer’s warranty is extended for two more years up to a maximum of 60,000 miles.

Scenario: My car is 2 and a half years old and has done 35,000 miles, if I sell it, will the new owner still have a warranty with the vehicle? >>>> YES! The vehicle would have 6 months or 25,000 miles of manufacturer's warranty left on it which the 2nd owner can take advantage of.

- Lifetime: After that, Vauxhall provides Lifetime Warranty, available to the 1st owner for an unlimited time period and a maximum of 100,000. To be kept valid it has to be service as per Vauxhall guidelines using genuine Vauxhall parts (not necessarily serviced at a Vauxhall dealership) and a free inspection must be carried out by a Vauxhall dealership annually.

SO... some common question that we've had >>>>>>>

'How can you call this a lifetime warranty when there's a mileage limit of 100,000 miles?'

The most important thing to remember is this is a warranty that can last a lifetime. If you drove on average 9,000 miles a year the warranty would last you for over 11 years. If you chose to sell the vehicle at this point then you could say that your vehicle has been covered under warranty for the entire time of your ownership.

'Does my vehicle have to be serviced at a Vauxhall dealership in order to keep the warranty valid?'

No, the vehicle can be serviced where ever you choose as long as it's serviced in accordance with Vauxhall's recommended servicing schedule, as per Vauxhall guidelines, using genuine Vauxhall parts.

'Why can't 2nd owners take advantage of the new warranty?'

We are currently working on an initiative for 2nd owners, details to be released shortly.

Ok, hopefully there's nothing I've missed out, if there is please tweet me!

This is a long read so thanks for sticking with me; we just wanted to make sure that everyone's questions are answered!

Thanks Tweeples!
