Bernie Sanders: One delusional politician
Bernie Sanders is quite the delusional politician. He ran as a socialist on a Democratic Party ticket, and he expected Democrats to treat him more favorably than lifelong Democrats. Moreover, as a socialist, he believes he is entitled to dictate terms to the Democrats. That’s delusional.
Sanders and his followers need a reality check. He can continue to exaggerate his importance and delay showing solidarity with the Clinton campaign. But his antics could be just enough, in a tight race, to ensure a Trump presidency. Should that happen, his legacy won’t be worth warm spit. Should that happen, Sanders and his followers will be dealing with a reactionary Trump government rather than a progressive Clinton government.
Black Males: Easily led in the wrong direction?
Why is it so many black males are so easily led in the wrong direction? Gangsta rap, crime, school dropouts, drugs, fights, public displays of anti-social behavior as in the Fireworks, River Days, etc?
Don’t they know, all actions have consequences? For example, the pursuit of education has positive consequences as in jobs, toys, and financial security. The pursuit of the dark side has negative consequences as well, as in an early death, habitual unemployment, and prison.
It takes no more energy to pursue an education than it does to pursue a criminal path. But the consequences are different; one positive, the other negative. Moreover, a criminal lifestyle takes even more energy and effort than the pursuit of an education, and your life and freedom are on the line.
Are Democrats vulnerable on the illegal immigration issue?
Poll after poll tells us Americans oppose illegal immigration, It is an issue that has propelled Donald Trump’s candidacy. Trump has taken a “fatherly” stance on illegal immigration, but Democrats have taken the “mama” stance. They are perceived as wanting to mother illegal immigrants. The perception is Democrats want to feed, cloth, educate and take care of illegal immigrants. But this perception, if not corrected or clarified, will hurt the Democrats in the upcoming presidential election.
The Party needs to come out in support of legal immigration, but it needs to make it clear it opposes illegal immigration. If it doesn’t make this point clear, it will be vulnerable to attacks from the Trump campaign.
