To recap, a suspect opened fire on Dallas police headquarters around 12:30 am CT. Police returned fire, and then the suspect rammed a police car and drove off. The suspect was chased to a parking lot in Hutchins, Texas, which is about 12 miles south of Dallas, NBC News reports. Police Chief David O. Brown said SWAT snipers shot at the suspect through the windshield of his van after a standoff and a robot is being sent in to confirm the suspect's condition. Four suspicious bags were found at headquarters, and police say the suspect claimed that his van was rigged with explosives. No officers or civilians were injured in the shooting or standoff, Brown said.
