Today the 7th anniversary of #BlackSaturday fires. Reminds us of the vital work of career #firefighters & vol. #CFA. It is also important to think of the work #police, #ambos, #SES, and other #EmergencyWorkers did over that tragic day and those days/weeks/months following..
#PTSD has ravaged many career & volunteer services workers since #BlackSaturday, many of them left with horrific mental scars and long-lasting health impacts of the trauma, and for many of them the trauma of that day ended their careers...
The families of these services personnel still to this very day are impacted, supporting and providing a solid foundation to the lives of these service people. They are there with every aspect of the #PTSD, the nightmares, the flashbacks, and the triggers, the anxiety, depression, and insomnia. We must not forget what the families do for our services personnel.
On this day, let us too remember all of those who passed, and those survivors whose lives will never be the same... Our thoughts are with you on this day .
