The answer is completely false. But given the number of protests aimed at the police, you would think the number of Blacks killed by the police was the absolute, greatest threat Blacks faced. But you would be wrong. It’s not even close. For every black person killed by the police, we’re killing several thousand fellow Blacks each year.
It’s not that rogue cops are not a threat, they are. But the bigger threat is coming from other Blacks. What we’re doing to each other is serious and needs our attention, and it needs to be dealt with. We cannot treat this issue the way some people treat incest in a family. Hush, hush.
What we’re doing to each other is no a secret, and it’s not airing dirty laundry to discuss it. The whole world knows what we’re doing to each other.
Every day, Blacks are killing each other in record numbers. Several times this year, Chicago registered over 31 shootings just over the weekend. But it’s not just Chicago. Pick any urban area, and it’s the same thing. We’re killing each other and attempting to kill each other over a range of things from the very criminal to the very silly:
• Sneakers.
• Glasses.
• Clothing.
• One person bumped into another person.
• Someone looked at someone else the “wrong” way.
• Over arguments about petty stuff.
• Drug deals gone bad.
• During carjackings.
• During robberies.
• Jealous boyfriends killing their girlfriends and setting their bodies on fire.
• Gang members deliberately killing children to get even with a parent.
• Fathers killing their children to escape child support
• Women killed after being raped,
• And it goes on and on.
Indeed, what rogue cops are doing is terrible, and we need to protest it. But shouldn’t we also protest the greatest threat to black lives too, nonstop black–on-black killings?
Blacks who see what we’re doing to each and ignore it, or pretend not to see it, are a new type of Uncle Tom. They see their people self-destructing, and they keep quiet because it’s not politically correct speak out. But they will protest police shootings because that is politically correct. It’s also hypocritical.
