VA officials plead the 5th, refuse to testify
Two Department of Veterans Affairs officials cited in a scathing inspector general report had to be subpoenaed to appear before a congressional committee after refusing to appear earlier. But while the subpoena got them in the room, the two invoked their Fifth Amendment rights. They refused to answer questions about whether they had abused a program that compensates them for taking jobs in other states.
