What You Say WILL Be Used Against You...
Here’s How to Fight Back...

Choose Your Words Wisely...

They’re words we hope we’ll never have to hear:

“Everything you say can and will be used against you…”

Even though I would venture to say that most of us associate this “Miranda” warning with the police...a pair of handcuffs...and a bad guy heading to a cold jail cell...

The truth is, even a responsibly armed American will hear these words after being forced to use a firearm in self-defense—even if that act was justified!

That’s why, if you ever find yourself in the aftermath of a lethal force encounter, you must choose your words very wisely…

Here’s the thing: just as a little preparation goes a long way when it comes to defending yourself against a violent criminal…it also comes in handy when you’re faced with the confusion that comes later: like what to say (or not to say) to the responding officers...

Remember, your USCCA membership provides you with a top-notch attorney who will help you navigate the scary aftermath of your self-defense incident.

But here are a few things to keep in mind before your lawyer arrives on the scene:

1) Remember that your right to use deadly force ends the moment the threat ends.
2) Make sure YOU are the one who places the first call to 911.
3) Preserve the scene exactly as is—and point out any pertinent evidence or witnesses to responding authorities.

Honestly, if you take these three things away from this email, I think we’ll both rest a little easier tonight.

And remember, when you hear those dreaded words—”You have the right to remain silent”—invoke that right and then keep your mouth shut until you’ve consulted with your lawyer.

One more thing:
