Why do we light Shabbat Candles?

Every Friday evening, Jews around the world light Shabbat candles to reveal the original light of creation and to remain aware of the divinity in all aspects of our life. By lighting Shabbat candles, we can restore the original Godly light which shone strong in the Garden of Eden. The light of the Shabbat candles bring warmth and comfort to any home and helps carry the unique powers of a restful Shabbat into the following week.
