Why is Colin Kaepernick
suddenly a victim?

Colin Kaepernick really stepped up and took issue with how rogue cops keep killing people on a whim, yet they always escape any kind of punishment.

Kaepernick said:

"There are a lot things that are going on that are unjust. People aren’t being held accountable for. And that’s something that needs to change. That’s something that this country stands for freedom, liberty and justice for all. And it’s not happening for all right now."

Though hate speech is not protected speech, let's make that clear. Political speech is protected. The courts have routinely upheld political speech, and if Kaepernick's issue becomes a legal issue, he will prevail.

For their parts, Americans often pound their chests when distinguishing the freedoms here compared to other countries. One of the things Americans cherish most is the Bill of Rights in the U.S. Constitution.

Freedom of speech is in the Bill of Rights, and it is one of the most cherish freedoms in American culture. That is unless you say something the majority disagrees with. Then, Americans reveal just how little they know about this nation's Constitution.

Again, political speech is protected speech, hate speech is not. Kaepernick wasn't promoting hate, he was merely expressing his American rights when he engaged in a type of symbolic speech and refused to stand for the National Anthem.

The Framers wanted to protect people from tyranny, and that's why they placed such a premium on Freedom of Speech, and the more controversial the speech, the greater the protection afforded..
