we don't carry on old traditions as much as asian countries, i would say, but we do preserve them and appreciate the history of our island, the art and music as well, because they are a big part of out culture. i'd say our culture and traditions are more prominent during Christmas time, when families get together.

our dialect is one of the things that sets us apart from other Spanish-speaking countries. we skip syllables and letters, especially at the end of words. For example, the word for "for" is "para" (pronounced pah-rah), but it is common for us to just say "pa" (pah), although it is grammatically incorrect. therefore, you can pick out a puerto rican because of their dialect haha. xD

and i think Junsu would love the food xD the food is delicious. i mean, i LOVE food from other countries (and tasting new things), but puerto rican food is just so... tropical xD

our national dish is rice with pigeon peas (the rice is always cooked on the stove and stirred in the process, therefore it is drier than when cooked on the rice cooker). although the food is healthy (we use vegetables, herbs and fruits a lot), it is also fattening, although i'm not sure if it's because it's so delicious that you overeat or because it it's actually fattening, HAHA. xD it would be amazing if you could do that trip and while at it visit my little island. :D
