A secluded beach on a Greek island. A turtle called Thelma. And a bittersweet romance that spans twenty years.
Twenty years ago, celebrated author and recluse, Samuel Pummel unexpectedly met the love of his life. Now they must both face the unthinkable
Combining stage performance with filmed footage, the play is a two-handed romantic comedy with pathos that follows the life journey of a couple who meet in their fifties and visit the same Greek island over the next twenty years.
Though the play has a light touch, it is thought-provoking and raises questions about growing old; self-worth; adapting to change and the joys and sorrows of love in later life.
Presented by the writer of V&A recognised KNOCK KNOCK (www.knockknock-press.com) and internationally broadcast SNARED (www.snaredinafrica.com), The Terribly Disappointing Mr. Pummel is performed by Jimmy Dean and Caroline Emes and directed by Jan Drew.
