@nat_ombudsman Update #ErwinVermeulen's trial via @Jos_Deleij: >>Feb 16th, Japan, at the end of the closing arguments, the Judge ordered Erwin released...

The prosecutor appealed to a higher court in order to keep Erwin in jail. The higher court will rule on the appeal on Monday.

We hope that Erwin will be out by Monday. This latest move by the prosecutor is unethical and unjust on top of an unjust arrest and incarceration. It is another move that proves this is a political case.

The Judge is not happy about the prosecution appealing his ruling. He has sent the documents to the higher court with a request they rule on it as early as tomorrow. Erwin could possibly be out by tomorrow.

Coincidentally next week Dutch minister of Economic Affairs @MaximeVerhagen will be paying Japan an official visit to promote investments and trade http://bit.ly/xkYELk
Might this be the reason why the Dutch government has neglected Erwin who has been treated as a heavy criminal for the past 2 months over an accusation as ridiculous as having "pushed" someone?
