@timesnow TV TRP ratings are calculated on fixed number of set-top boxes given to small number of selected people with special gadget to record how many users seeing which channel and for how long. Average is taken from the readings and a TV channel's popularity is arrived at. Works just like a very limited sample survey in opinion poll.It has nothing to do with the rest of us watching or not watching any channel.We can safely say TRPs ratings are far from accurate reflection of the actual popularity of any TV channel or programme.
If you don't like a channel is taking against the truth and is behaving like a mouthpiece of vested interests, simply use your remote control and switch channels like you do when those inane ads come on. Many times it is more entertaining and informative to see Discovery/Nat Geo/Animal World channels where animals behave naturally rather than with hidden agenda.This has been re-tweeted to 12,536 so far and others continue to do so.
