#worldobesityday #inspiredhealth
This years’ World Obesity Day is focusing on childhood obesity, at The Groovy Food Project we truly believe education and fun lay the best foundation for children making informed and educated healthy choices.
Busy schedules, less ‘stay at home’ parents and reduced funding in schools have all impacted on the opportunities to teach our children how to cook, how to eat and how to have fun with food. We want to take our workshops all over Yorkshire and beyond to bring the fizz, bang and pop into healthy, inspired cooking.
Here are our top 10 tips to promote healthy eating:
Get cooking together – try making your child’s favourite meal, together!
Role Models- Be a great role model to your kids – or find one you can look up to together.
Opportunity – add healthy extras at every opportunity, even if they’re not eaten at first.
Occurrence – Make mealtimes a family event, get everyone involved, talk, laugh, enjoy.
Variety – use recipes if needed but try and make something new once a week.
Young – The younger the better but if your kids are a little older, hang in there.
So shake those sieves and let your kids get their hands dirty 
