History & the Quran itself has shown that Islam (which means "submission") is anything but peaceful and tolerant.
Muslim nations ruled by Sharia Law do not afford any rights to gays, women, or free speech. In these same nations, you will not find a Christian church, Jewish synagogue, or a Catholic Cathedral. A tourist can be arrested, beaten, and even imprisoned for just CARRYING a Bible in public. So much for "tolerance!"
I highly encourage everyone to read the Quran before making such inaccurate statements regarding Islam. Study Sharia Law, and you will see why Islam is totally incompatible with the U.S. Constitution and western culture in general. This way, they might not be so embarrassed by their obvious ignorance of the truth.
Oh, yes, representatives of Islam will claim that Muslims are a peaceful and tolerant people. But did you know, the Quran says it is okay for them to lie to us about that, as we are considered infidels, the enemies of Islam! Lastly, don't take my word for it. Please ... Read the Quran for yourself.

Religion Vs. Relationship
RELIGION is a man sitting in church, thinking about fishing. RELATIONSHIP is a man fishing, thinking about God. Our loving, living God seeks a relationship with YOU!! Why not give it a try?Muslims Have The Same God?

The Quran speaks of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, even Mary. But Allah is a god who HATES SINNERS, the unrighteous, and the infidel who is not a Muslim. He is a very impersonal god who is only appeased by the good works of his followers and encourages the killing of both Jews and Christians. If Allah is the god of Jews & Christians, why would he ask that his own followers be killed?
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- the God of both Christians & Jews, LOVES EVERYONE, including sinners and the unrighteous, and He calls everyone to repentance, offering salvation from one's sins to ALL -- both Jew & Gentile!! This "salvation" is not based on "good works," but on God's loving MERCY & GRACE, as our righteous works do nothing to save us (Isaiah 64:6). This is not just a New Testament theology, but is stated multiple times in the Torah, the Psalms, and from our God Himself, speaking in Isaiah 43:3 and 43:11, for example.
Please read the Quran to see for yourself, if Allah is the same as the loving & forgiving God of both Jews and Christians. If Allah is the same god as that of both Jew & Christian, can you say then,"For ALLAH so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life?" (John 3:16 paraphrased) The Quran, the holy book of Islam totally contradicts this statement: Allah has no son, Allah hates the sinner, and there is no promise of eternal life for everyone.
