This might be the dumbest thing ever. A lot of people attack Pats fans for being irrational, but the same can be said about Pats haters. I haven’t read the report in full, so I’m not going to comment directly on it, but the punishment is ridiculous. To suspend Brady four games makes no sense. The rules state that the punishment for tampering with the balls is a $25000 fine. The reason was because they felt he did not cooperate with the investigation by not turning over his phone. There is no reason for him to turn over his personal cell phone. He and his wife are two of the most famous people in the world. It is nothing but rational for him to not turn over his cell phone in order to protect their privacy. This is not an admission of guilt. There have been other instances of teams breaking the rules with regard to tampering the footballs, none of which have been punished or followed up with an investigation. Aaron Rodgers admitted he likes his footballs over the PSI limit: nothing. Brad Johnson admitted he paid a ball boy $7500 to tamper with the footballs before a fucking Super Bowl: nothing. Cameras caught the Vikings and Panthers using heaters to warm up footballs during a cold weather game: nothing. Earlier this year the Falcons and Browns were caught cheating and given minor penalties and literally no one gave a flying fuck. People only choose to give a shit about cheating when the Pats are involved. Jerry Rice admitted he used Stick em, which was illegal and no one questions his greatness or legacy the way people are questioning Brady. To further illustrate how much of a non issue this really is, AJ Feely thought he suspected something with the Pats footballs back in ’04 and brought it up to his team (an AFC East rival) and they laughed it off and told him to worry about things that actually matter. If this has been going on for a while, why is this issue only being raised now? The refs handle the footballs countless times each game, and they never noticed anything wrong? Tom Brady has thrown INTs before, and no one raised concerns before. The Colts are just fucking cry babies that can’t handle the fact that they just cannot beat the Pats. I believe they worked with the NFL to create this controversy, which would explain the awful way in which the NFL conducted this investigation. I will comment further on that if anyone is curious. At the end of the day, no one knows what happened except Brady. There certainly is a possibility he did it, but my main point is that even if he did, who gives a shit? I just listed countless examples of people cheating that literally no one has any fucks to give about. I understand why people hate the Pats, but that isn’t an excuse for being this insanely irrational. To take these petty infractions, especially when there isn’t definitive proof and try to undermine everything that BB and TB12 have accomplished over the years is insulting. You cannot cherry pick and only get angry with cheating allegations against the Pats. If you’re going to be this upset about this nonsense, then you have to be equally upset about all cheating allegations. Otherwise, you’re just as petty and irrational as you claim Pats fans are. Tom Brady is my idol and role model. It’s been an honor to watch and cheer for him all these years. No matter what, I stand behind him. We are all Patriots, and today, the Patriots are World Champions.
