2 rants in one day? Well, the HOT weather makes me angry! So here goes!
I would first like to thank Heidi Pibble, Chris Antolini, Melanie Numa, and the rest of the BULLY BREED RESCUE crew for making a generous donation of food and pet supplies to A Hand for a Paw. It truly meant a lot to me because it is one group lending a hand to another. Some of you may have heard me preach on how rescue groups really need to let go of their differences and work with each other. At the end of the day, it is about the animals. As I mentioned in my earlier rant it is the animals that always seem to lose out. Interestingly enough many people will tell me that Connecticut has enough rescue groups and that all the animals have a great chance especially compared to other states! Compared to southern states we do have a lot of assistance and some great groups but the fact is that as of one hour ago I entered 06606 into Petfinder and set it to search a 100 mile radius of 06606. DRUMROLL!!!!!!!! There are currently 26,942 animals in need of homes... So many groups yet in a 100-mile radius there are still almost 30,000 animals in need of homes?!?!?! To add to this and I am not sure about your town, district, or city but I personally know of a hand full of shelters that have truly lost their minds. Not picking up strays, injured dogs and cats and completely writing off wildlife calls because of training? REALLY? I paid for my ALL of my own training because I wanted to offer the citizens of my city a well-rounded, knowledgeable ACO. The citizens of my town pay a lot of taxes and deserve better and their animals including wildlife deserve the best. So something as simple as today's donation to AHFAP from BULLY BREED RESCUE really will help move mountains and with that I applaud and truly thank HEIDI and the rest of the BBR gang for reaching out to me! Thank you so very much!!!! TOGETHER WE WILL MAKE AN EVEN BIGGER DIFFERENCE! #pitbulls #animal adoption #ahfap #bullybreedrescue #jimmygonzalez
Good Morning fellow Humaniacs, wackjobs, hoarders, animal activist and you crazy zealots!!! time for a small rant... if you dont like it or if I offend you...please, please unfriend me now!!! I keep hearing stories over and over and over and over and over that I cannot wrap my brain around and I don't consider myself a very bright man so I googled what an animal control officer does NOWADAYS!!!! I got sick of asking myself have things changed so drastically.
Animal control officers enforce local and regional laws concerning the care and treatment of animals. They patrol public areas looking for potential signs of distressed animals, and work directly with the public concerning animal control issues.
Guess I was wrong, responsibilities have not changed but some cities and towns have lost their freaking minds. sadly it is always the animals that suffer. if you can't stand the heat, please, please, please stay the hell out of the kitchen!!!!
